Acting Thru Dance with DJAHARI
Discover fun techniques to push past your comfort zone.  Learn how to communicate effectively with an audience and expand your facial vocabulary.  Study techniques for stage performance with characters as well as aiming at therapeutic processes and self-exploration.


1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Creative Staging and Lighting with AMARA and DJAHARI
Illuminate and adorn your dance space. Understand how to build and occupy a dancescape with props, sets, and dancers in order to convey your vision. Learn to communicate emotional subtleties by delving into symbolism of location, illumination, and color.

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Fusing Dance with MIHRIMAH

Many belly dancers today are readily fusing their dance with other forms. But the question is, what is fusion besides just adding elements together? Explore the concepts behind technique and aesthetics in order to develop strong and powerful fusion.

Learn how to construct strong and focused dance narratives. Explore character development through various forms such as autobiography, history, and myth.

Bali Bellydance - Veil choreography with MIHRIMAH
Something for those of you who are curious for something different! Learn a vibrant choreography that introduces basic Balinese dance movements and combines them with belly dance and veil moves.

Please bring a rectangular 3 yard veil.

How Slow Can You Go? with AMARA
Knowing how to produce strong, fluid, taffy movements is essential for any dancer. Learn my “Points in Space,” a comprehensive approach to understanding easy and hard transitions. Use it in order to refine and strengthen existing movement pathways and create unique and entrancing combinations that flow throughout the body.

Contemporary and Bellydance Dance Fusion Choreography
with MIHRIMAH
Although contemporary and folk dances take very different approaches to dance, fusing them brings out beautiful and interesting creations. Learn an expressive choreography that takes Middle Eastern dance out of its traditional boundaries.


4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Embracing the Grotesque with DJAHARI
A meditative journey that safely guides us towards purging and healing as an art form. Partake in a therapeutic exploration in which we manifest physical creations of our inner demons, and then embrace their grotesqueness by giving them shape, sound, and movement. Let’s make art out of Ugly!

Do you want to learn the cool new moves and techniques that I am experimenting with in my latest dances? Things such as: on and off balances and unusual postures with belly dance moves, abrupt timing changes, and unconventional veil? Then joins us and bring your A game!
Please bring a rectangular 3 yard veil. Split sole dance shoes are recommended.

Young Lotus - Fan Veil Choreography with MIHRIMAH
In Buddhism, the Lotus is the symbol of spiritual elevation, as it grows from mud to the water’s surface. Learn a graceful choreography that depicts this divine development through the use of Chinese and Middle Eastern dance elements.
Please bring two fan veils (left hand and right hand)
